Getting Started With LifeWell: Your Complete Setup Guide
LifeWell is one record for a whole life โ health, mind, life stages, people, memories and the ordinary week that holds them together โ kept by the person it belongs to. Setting it up means signing in, saying which of those areas you want, and logging one thing. The post reckons that takes under ten minutes, and the honest advice inside it is to start with two or three areas rather than switching on everything at once. An area you leave off is not missing. It is off. It stays off until you want it, and turning it on later starts counting from that day.
Welcome to LifeWell
LifeWell is designed to be your all-in-one health and wellness companion. Whether you want to track water intake, manage medications, monitor your baby's development, or build better habits, everything lives in one place.
This guide will help you get set up and productive in under 10 minutes.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Sign up using your Google account for the fastest setup. Your data is securely stored in LifeWell's own Supabase backend and can be synced across all your devices.
Privacy first: LifeWell never sells your data. All health information is encrypted and only accessible to you.
Step 2: Configure Your Dashboard
After signing in, you will see the main dashboard. Customize it by:
- Pinning your most-used features to the top for quick access
- Setting your daily goals for water, steps, and sleep
- Choosing your preferred units (metric or imperial)
- Choosing how it looks โ light or dark, colour, text size and the rest. LifeWell is English-only today, and translation will return when a language can be finished rather than started
Step 3: Set Up Key Features
Water Tracking
Go to Health and then Water. Set your daily goal and cup size. Enable reminders to build the habit.
Medication Management
Add your medications with name, dosage, frequency, and time. LifeWell sends push notifications so you never miss a dose.
Baby Tracker
If you have little ones, set up a profile for each child. Track feeding sessions, sleep, diapers, milestones, and growth measurements.
Health Calculators
The Tools section lists them: BMI, daily calorie needs, body fat, heart rate zones and more. Most open on ZTools, and every card says so before you click it. They work out a number and keep nothing, so anything you want to follow over time belongs in the tracker for it.
Step 4: Enable Google Drive Backup
Protect your memories and data by connecting Google Drive:
- Go to Settings and then the Data tab
- Connect the Google account you want your files to live in
- Upload a photo. LifeWell creates a folder named LifeWell inside that Drive and puts it there
There is no schedule to set, because there is nothing to schedule. Your files stay in your personal Google Drive folder and LifeWell keeps a reference to them rather than a copy.
Step 5: Install on All Devices
LifeWell works on:
- Web: Visit lifewell.aoneahsan.com
- Android: Download from Google Play
- Browser Extension: none today. One was built and never published to a store, so there is nothing to install
All platforms sync automatically through your account.
Tips for Success
- Start with 2-3 features rather than trying everything at once
- Set reminders for new habits you are building
- Review your weekly summary every Sunday to spot trends
- Join the community to connect with others on their wellness journey
Elsewhere on LifeWell
- Privacy โ What LifeWell stores, where it sits, and who can read it back.
- Plans โ What the free plan includes, and what each paid one adds.
- Export everything โ Your whole record leaves in one file, on any plan, without giving a reason.
What people use it for
Turning on only what you want
Onboarding asks which areas apply to you and leaves the rest alone, and the app is plain about what that choice does and does not do: this only decides what the sidebar shows first. Nothing is removed โ every domain stays available, and turning one on later takes one tap.
Logging one thing on the first day
`/tracking` is the daily check-in: mood, energy, sleep, water, steps, weight, and a note. Two fields are enough. The point of day one is that something is in the record, not that the record is complete.
Putting four things within one tap
The dashboard carries quick cards for water, sleep, steps and mood. The post's own advice is that a habit survives on how cheap it is, and this is where that is decided.
Keeping attachments in your own Google Drive
Connect Drive and the files you attach go to your own account rather than ours. LifeWell holds a reference to the file, not the file itself, which means the copy that matters is somewhere you already control.
Getting it all back out
`/health/export` produces your record as a file you can keep, print or hand to somebody. It is worth doing once in the first week, while there is little in there, so you know what leaving looks like before you have a year of entries to lose.
Questions
How do I get started with LifeWell?
Sign in with Google, choose your units, and turn on the areas that apply to you; the post reckons under ten minutes for the lot. There is no goal step. Its own advice is to start with two or three areas rather than all of them, and nothing you skip is lost, because the choice only decides what the sidebar shows first โ nothing is removed, every domain stays available, and turning one on later takes one tap.
Where does my record actually live?
Your record lives on your device first. It works with no connection at all. If you turn syncing on, a copy goes to a server so your other devices can read it. Attachments are different again: connect Google Drive and the files sit in your own account, with LifeWell holding a reference to the file rather than the file itself. The privacy page sets out the whole flow.
Can I export or delete everything?
Yes, and both are yours to do from inside the app rather than by asking anybody. `/health/export` produces your record as a file. Deleting the account signs you out at once and takes the live rows with it: profile, every reading, medicine and note, family relationships, and the local copy on the device you are holding. Some things outlast that, and the privacy page names each one โ an encrypted backup until it rotates, another device until it next connects, a crash report for up to 90 days.
Do I have to fill everything in for it to be useful?
No. A record with gaps in it is still a record. There is no streak to break and no badge for starting, nothing is scored, and a week you did not open the app is a week you did not open the app. Two or three entries is enough to make a month readable later, which is the only test that matters.
Which platforms does LifeWell run on?
The web app and an Android app, signing into the same account, with the record syncing between them when syncing is on. There is no iOS app and no date for one. Saying that plainly is more use to you than a coming-soon note that quietly never arrives.
Who is behind LifeWell?
It is made by one person, and it is direct about what it cannot do. That is worth knowing before you put a life into it. It also means the answer to a question about how something works is usually written down somewhere in the app or the blog rather than delivered by a support team.
Is any of this medical advice?
No. LifeWell records what you tell it and shows it back. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything, it is not a medical device, and it carries no interpretation you did not ask for. Where a page shows a range or a threshold, that is reference information rather than a judgement about you.
