Calorie counter
The calorie counter in LifeWell is a food diary that adds up what you logged and compares it to a daily target you set. Log your daily food intake with a comprehensive food diary. Search for foods, log meals, and track calories consumed against your daily target to support weight management or nutritional goals. Anything missing from the database can be added as a custom entry and reused. The number is a record of what you entered, not a measurement โ portion sizes are estimates by nature, and the app does not set a target for you or warn you about the one you chose.
What people use it for
Eating at a deficit
Someone on a calorie-deficit diet working toward a weight loss goal.
Eating enough to train
Athletes tracking intake to ensure they eat enough to support training demands.
Recovering an appetite
People recovering from illness who need to meet minimum calorie requirements.

Questions
How do I know my daily calorie target?
Use the TDEE calculator on ZTools (linked from the Tools directory) to find your maintenance calories, then adjust based on your goal. A deficit of 500 calories per day typically results in about 0.5 kg of weight loss per week.
Can I log custom foods?
Yes. If a food is not in the database, you can add a custom entry with the food name and calorie count. Custom foods are saved for quick reuse.
