Exercise tracker
The exercise tracker in LifeWell is a log of the sessions you did, typed in by you, with charts showing volume and frequency over time. Log workouts, follow guided exercise routines, and track your fitness progress over time. Whether you prefer yoga, strength training, or cardio, the tracker adapts to your preferred workout style. There is no wearable to read and no session detected automatically. That is the trade: everything is entered by hand, and in return the record contains what you actually did rather than what a sensor inferred.
What people use it for
Progressive overload at the gym
Gym-goers who want to log sets and reps and track progressive overload.
Following a home programme
People following a home workout program and need to track completion.
Logging runs and rides
Runners and cyclists logging cardio sessions with duration and distance.
Coming back after a break
Anyone returning to exercise after a break who wants structured guidance.
How it works
- Pick a routine โ Choose from pre-built workout routines or create your own custom sessions.
- Start the timer โ Start a workout timer that tracks duration, sets, reps, and rest periods.
- Log what you did โ Log completed exercises with the actual weight, reps, or duration performed.
- Review the charts โ Review workout history with charts showing volume, frequency, and progression.
- Keep the streak โ Earn streaks for consistent exercise and track weekly activity goals.
Questions
Can I create my own workout routines?
Yes. You can build custom routines by selecting exercises, setting target sets and reps, and saving them for repeated use.
Does it integrate with wearable devices?
Currently, workouts are logged manually within the app. Wearable integration is on the roadmap for a future release.
Are there beginner-friendly workouts?
Yes. The exercise library includes routines for all fitness levels, from gentle stretching and beginner bodyweight exercises to advanced strength training.
Tips
- Log your workout the moment you finish, not an hour later. Memory fades fast, especially on specifics like actual weight lifted versus the weight you planned. Real-time logging is dramatically more accurate and takes less than two minutes.
- Log your imperfect sessions too โ the shortened workouts, the days you only managed a 20-minute walk. Consistent logging of realistic effort builds a more accurate picture than spotless records of idealized sessions you rarely had.
- Review last week's actual activity before planning this week's sessions. The most common training mistake is planning an ambitious schedule with no relationship to what you actually did last week. The data prevents this disconnect.
- Celebrate density milestones, not just peak milestones. Completing 12 reps at a weight you used to do 8 reps with is real progress. Running the same route two minutes faster than last month is real progress. These details compound into transformation.
- Log planned rest days explicitly as rest days. Deliberate recovery is not the absence of training โ it is part of the program. Marking it intentionally prevents the guilt spiral of 'I did nothing today' when doing nothing was actually the correct choice.
