Privacy in LifeWell means the record belongs to you: it is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not mined to build a profile of you. LifeWell is built on a privacy-first foundation. Full GDPR compliance with complete data portability and account deletion. Data travels encrypted, sits in an account tied to your sign-in, and is reachable by nobody you have not deliberately connected. Export is one action and account deletion is another; neither requires emailing anyone, and neither is behind a payment, because a record you cannot take away is not really yours.

How it works
- Encrypted in transit — All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption — your health information is never sent in plain text.
- Stored in your account — Data is stored in LifeWell's own database, where row-level security policies tie every row to the account that owns it.
- Signed in with Google — Authentication uses Google sign-in — LifeWell never stores a password of yours.
- Export any time — You can export all your data at any time from the settings page in a portable JSON format.
- Delete it all — Account deletion is permanent and immediate — selecting it removes all your data from our systems within 30 days.
Questions
Does LifeWell sell my health data?
No. LifeWell does not sell, rent, or share your personal health data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Your data exists solely to provide the service to you.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
Account deletion removes all your personal data from our active systems. Backups are purged within 30 days. This action is irreversible — export your data first if you want to keep a copy.
Is LifeWell HIPAA-compliant?
LifeWell is designed for personal wellness tracking and is not a covered entity under HIPAA. It is not intended to replace medical records or clinical care systems. For clinical environments, consult your compliance officer before use.
Tips
- Use a strong, unique password for your Google account since that is the primary authentication layer for LifeWell. A password manager makes this trivial in practice.
- Review your sharing permissions periodically if you have connected LifeWell to a partner's account. Circumstances change, and a periodic audit costs less than two minutes.
- Export your data once a quarter and save a copy in your personal Google Drive or local storage. This is not because we are likely to disappear — it is because owning your own health history is inherently valuable.
- If you use LifeWell on a shared device, configure a device PIN or biometric lock. The app's data security is only as strong as the device access controls protecting it.
- Read the privacy policy at least once. It is shorter than most. Understanding what a service actually does with your data is the first step in making an informed choice about what to log there.
